In Indonesia Muslim Imams are converting themselves to Hinduism and silently converting Indonesia into a Hindu Nation.

Let’s first know the today’s Indonesia:

Indonesia, officially The Republic of Indonesia, is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The archipalegio of Indonesia lies between the Indian ocean and Pacific Ocean. It comprises of 1700 Islands including big Islands like Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Borneol, New Guinea, Bali etc. Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic state and 14th largest country by area, at 1,904,569 square kilometres. Population of Indonesia is 280 million which is fourth largest after China, India and US. Indonesia is also world’s most populous country by Muslim Population above Pakistan.

Religious Demography of Indonesia:

Islam- 87%

Christianity- 10%

Hinduism – 2%

Buddhism- 1%

After three and half centuries of Dutch (New Name Netherlans) colonialism Indonesia got it’s freedom on 17th August 1945.

Today, Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority country in the world. But at one time, Hinduism held a strong influence on the island nation. Even today we can find thousands of traces of Hinduism in terms of temples, centuries old idol of Hindu deities, in their culture, in their style of living.

After the arrival of Islam Indonesia became a Muslim dominated country diminishing Hinduism. However, Hinduism still hold the strong influence on the people of Indonesia. Even today the people of Indonesia continue to believe in the prophecies of the Hindu ancestors.

But now Hinduism is rising again in Indonesia, Imams are converting themselves to Hinduism, ancient temples are rising again, thousands of new temples are being built all over the Indonesia. Muslim Imams are converting and leading thousands back to Sanatan Dharma and this is not just the cultural trend but it’s a civilization awakening.

As per one rough estimate one converted Imam is helping atleast 10000 people to embrace Hinduism in Indonesia.

The journey to Hinduism in Indonesia got speed when Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, the daughter of Sukarno, Indonesia’s founding father and first president, approx. four years ago converted herself from Islam to Hinduism.

Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, 70, embraced Hinduism in a ritual called ‘Sudhi Wadani’ . The ceremony took place at the Sukarno Centre Heritage Area, named after her father, located inside the Buleleng Regency in Bali. Bali is the only Hindu majority island of Indonesia where 87% Hindus live.

Even the name of the Indonesia is derived from two words India and Asia. And still the entire population of Indonesia is deeply rooted to Indian cultures, traditions and customs. Name of its Islands i.e. Java, Bali, Sumatra etc. have also been taken from Hindu Epics.
